Dear On the Isle friend,

How nice it was to hear from so many of you about our summer '09 plans. With your input, we have expanded the holiday spirit thheme to encompass the group of holidays that happen every year from Thanksgiving to New Year. We will be calling this summer's Sconset Days, hapinging from July 20 until July 31, The Holidays On the Isle. Here are a few things OTI has planned. We hope you will participate and maybe even host some of your own celebrations.

JULY 20th THANKSGIVING, honoring OTI's Founders and welcoming our new Sconset Spirits with a toast. We are following the theme of the tradition which the Pilgrims began...a pot luck dinner. We will supply the turkeys and the set up. Just bring a dish to share and your favorite beverage. This event is appropriate for those 12 and older.

JULY 22nd FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS. We will 'light up' the village at the square. Join us for a sing-a-long and a surprise or two, followed by light adult treats at the Chanticleer.

JULY 26th CANDLELIGHT CONCERT Come listen to some of the island's favorite musicians perform holiday music in the chapel. Stay tuned for more information about children and adult choruses.

JULY 29th HOLIDAY MOVIE Continuing the tradition of classic films at the chapel on Wednesday evenings, the film Holiday Inn will be shown. This is the movie that introduced White Christmas, with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire.

JULY 31st NEW YEARS EVE On the Isle's Benefit Gala A cabaret show performed by the wildly funny and talented Roberta DeMura. This show was developed by Carl and the authors of the legendary book "ET." With lots of surprises and fun, you are not going to want to miss it. 21 and older please.

We will be offering two workshops: Boxwood arrangements for adults and vase making and flower arranging for children.
