2. What we do — and what we do not do
Siasconset Poker Rooms is an independent equipment review desk and technical consultancy. Our activity consists of measuring, testing, scoring, sourcing and servicing physical poker equipment — tables, rails, layouts, clay and composite chips, playing cards, shufflers, trays and cases — and of training the dealers and floor staff who use that equipment.
We want to be unambiguous about the limits of our business, because our domain name includes the word "casino" and because we write about card room operations:
- We are not a gambling operator. We hold no gaming licence and we do not seek one.
- We do not accept, place, broker or process wagers of any kind, for money or for anything of value.
- We do not operate, host or supply real-money or social gaming, and this website contains no game of chance, no simulated gambling and no in-browser play.
- We do not act as an affiliate for gambling operators. We publish no operator sign-up links, no bonus codes and no revenue-share referrals.
- We do not offer financial, legal, tax or regulatory-compliance advice. Our reports are technical measurements and engineering opinions.
Our customers are licensed card room operators, casinos, private members' clubs, tournament organisers, equipment manufacturers and distributors. Our services are supplied on a business-to-business basis.
3. Editorial independence
The commercial independence of our review desk is the product we sell, so we state the rules publicly and hold ourselves to them.
- We do not accept payment, discounts, hospitality or any other benefit in exchange for a score, a ranking position, a favourable mention or the suppression of a finding.
- We buy the equipment we review at ordinary retail or trade prices wherever it is commercially possible to do so. Where a manufacturer supplies a sample, that fact is disclosed in the published report.
- We sell some of the equipment we have reviewed. Where we have a commercial interest in a product, that interest is disclosed on the page where the product appears.
- Our scoring rubric has not been altered since 2019, and any future change will be published with its effective date so that historical scores remain comparable.
- Every report is signed by the auditor who performed the work, and that auditor is contactable through the addresses on this page.
- Auditors are salaried. No part of any auditor's pay is linked to the outcome of a review, to sales of reviewed equipment, or to client satisfaction with a score.
If you believe a published figure is wrong, write to [email protected] with the report reference and the measurement you dispute. We re-measure at our own cost and publish a correction if we were wrong.
4. Age restriction and responsible play
This website is intended for adults working in, or supplying, the regulated card room industry. It is not directed at children and it is not intended for recreational gamblers.
- You must be at least 18 years old to use this website, and at least the minimum legal gambling age in your own jurisdiction (which is 21 in many United States jurisdictions) to purchase equipment from us or to engage our on-site services.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. See our Privacy Policy.
- Nothing on this website should be read as encouragement to gamble.
If gambling has stopped being entertainment for you or for someone you know, free confidential help is available. In the United States, the National Problem Gambling Helpline can be reached on 1-800-522-4700, or by text and chat at the same number, 24 hours a day. Support services also exist in most other jurisdictions.
5. Accuracy, measurement and limits of our statements
We take considerable care over the numbers we publish, and we still cannot guarantee them absolutely. Every measurement is a sample taken from a production run at a moment in time, using instruments with a stated tolerance, in conditions we describe in the report.
- Published figures relate to the specific samples tested, identified by batch where the manufacturer marks batches. They are not a warranty about any other unit.
- Manufacturers change materials, suppliers and tooling without notice. A score published in one year may not describe goods sold under the same name in another.
- Prices, availability, specifications and turnaround times shown on this website are indicative and may change. They are an invitation to treat, not a binding offer. See our Terms and Conditions.
- Opinions expressed in our reports — for example that a build is or is not worth its price — are honest professional opinions held at the date of publication.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for decisions taken purely on the basis of freely published editorial content. Where you engage us under a written order form, the position is governed by our Terms of Service, which contain express warranties and a defined liability regime.
6. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, all content on this website — including text, scoring rubrics, report structures, measurement tables, photographs, illustrations, diagrams, icons, page layouts, the compilation of that content, and the underlying source code — is owned by Siasconset Poker Rooms LLC or is used under licence, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
What you may do
- View, download and print pages of this website for your own internal business use or personal reference.
- Quote short extracts of our editorial content, provided the quotation is accurate, is not misleading as to context, identifies "Siasconset Poker Rooms" as the source, and includes a working link to the page quoted.
What you may not do
- Republish, redistribute, sell, sub-licence or commercially exploit our content, in whole or in substantial part, without our prior written consent.
- Use our scores, badges, grades or certificates in your own advertising or packaging without a written licence from us.
- Systematically extract, scrape or harvest content, including for the purpose of training machine-learning models, without our prior written consent.
- Remove or obscure any copyright, trade mark or authorship notice.
Licensing requests: [email protected].
7. Third-party names and trade marks
Product and brand names used on this website — including the equipment lines we review — are the property of their respective owners. They are used here descriptively, for the purpose of identifying the goods that were tested and of providing honest comparative review.
Their use does not imply any endorsement of, affiliation with, sponsorship by or partnership with the owners of those names, and it does not imply that those owners endorse our findings. Where a commercial relationship does exist — for example, where we resell a line we have reviewed — that relationship is disclosed on the relevant page.
If you own rights in a name used on this website and you believe our use is inaccurate or unfair, contact [email protected] and we will respond within ten business days.
8. External links
This website may link to websites operated by third parties, such as manufacturers, standards bodies or regulators. Those links are provided for convenience and reference only.
- We do not control third-party sites and we do not monitor their content on a continuing basis.
- We accept no responsibility for the content, accuracy, availability, products, services or privacy practices of any linked site.
- A link does not indicate endorsement, sponsorship or any commercial relationship unless we say so explicitly.
- Once you leave this website, the terms and privacy policy of the destination site apply to you, not ours.
If you find a link on this website that is broken, misleading or leads to unlawful material, please report it to [email protected] and we will review it promptly.
9. Availability of this website
We aim to keep this website available and correct, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or free of errors, and we may suspend, withdraw or restrict all or part of it for business or operational reasons — including maintenance — without notice.
You are responsible for configuring your own information technology and platform to access this website, and for using your own virus protection software. You must not misuse this website by knowingly introducing malicious code, attempting unauthorised access, or conducting a denial-of-service attack. Such conduct may be a criminal offence, and we will report it to the relevant law enforcement authorities.
10. Complaints and dispute resolution
If you are unhappy with our website, our published content, our goods or our services, please tell us first — most matters are resolved quickly and without cost to either side.
- Raise it in writing. Email [email protected] with the words "Formal complaint" in the subject line, describing the issue, the dates involved, any report or order reference, and the outcome you are seeking.
- Acknowledgement. We acknowledge every formal complaint within three business days.
- Investigation and reply. We aim to give a substantive written reply within fifteen business days. Where a technical re-measurement is needed, we will say so and give a revised date.
- Escalation. If our reply does not resolve the matter, you may ask for it to be reviewed by the Managing Member, who will respond within a further fifteen business days.
- External resolution. If the complaint remains unresolved, either party may pursue mediation or the remedies set out in the applicable contractual terms.
Consumers resident in the European Union may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform. We are not obliged to participate in, and do not currently commit to, arbitration before a consumer arbitration board.
11. Technical and hosting information
This website is a static site. It is delivered by a commercial hosting and content-delivery provider engaged by us under a written contract that includes data-processing obligations. Server-side access logs generated by that provider are described in our Privacy Policy.
The website loads one third-party resource: the Inter typeface, served by Google Fonts. That request discloses your IP address and basic request headers to the font provider. The consequences are described in our Cookie Policy and our Privacy Policy. No advertising, analytics or social media trackers are embedded in these pages.
12. Applicable law
This Legal Information page, and any non-contractual obligation arising out of or in connection with it, is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. The state and federal courts sitting in Nantucket County, Massachusetts, have jurisdiction, save that we may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of establishment where the law requires it.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction whose law grants you mandatory protections, nothing in this page removes the benefit of those protections or of the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
